Places of Interest

Erskine Falls

These falls are about 10 kilometres inland from Lorne along Erskine Road. Take William Street off The Great Ocean Road in the centre of Lorne. This becomes the Erskine Falls Road.

It is an easy drive through the eucalypt forest on sealed roads. The path from the carpark is well made and relatively easy. The Steps down to the lower viewing area are more difficult, but the walk in summer it is a lush and cool experience. The lower platform affords a front on view of the 30 metre falls.

Teddy's Lookout

A short drive to the top end of George Street at the back of Lorne is the scenic spot known as Teddy's Lookout. A newly constructed walkway takes you to the viewing platform where you have breath taking, sweeping, coastal views of the surf breaking into the mouth of the Saint George River. On the lower platform to the right, views change to mountainous peaks and the Saint George River winding itself into fern covered valleys and gorges. A truly worthwhile spot for scenic views.
